Shirley Jones Biography and Career:

Shirley Mae Jones is a well-known American actress and singer. She was born on March 31, 1934, in the United States. Throughout her six decades in the entertainment industry, she has portrayed morally upstanding individuals in various musical films, including Oklahoma! (1955), Carousel (1956), and The Music Man (1962). Elmer Gantry (1960) was the film for which she received the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as a vindictive prostitute.
