John Lithgow Biography and Career:

John Lithgow is an American actor, comedian, poet, and singer who has worked in the industry for over 50 years and has acted in over 100 films and TV shows. Lithgow rose to fame for his performance as ‘Dick Solomon’ on the NBC comedy series ‘3rd Rock from the Sun,’ for which he won both an Emmy and a Golden Globe. In 2004, he had a role in “The Life and Death of Peter Sellers,” a British-American television film about the life of the comic Peter Sellers. After that, he joined the likes of Jamie Foxx, BeyoncĂ© Knowles, and Eddie Murphy in Bill Condon’s American romantic musical drama Dreamgirls. In the 2011 science fiction thriller Rise of the Planet of the Apes, he played James Franco’s unstable father, Charles Rodman.
