She was recruited to play a supporting part on the American sketch comedy program ‘Mr. Program with Bob and David’ after she gained fame for her excellent comedic timing and was featured on the show.

As being approached to become a co-writer for “Ellen Degeneres: Here and Now” in the early 2000s, her career took an entirely new turn as this opportunity presented itself. Later on, she became involved with “The Ellen Degeneres Show” as a writer for the program, in which she also made guest appearances, sometimes playing various characters. Her podcasts, such as “My Favourite Murder” and “Do You Need a Ride?” have helped her establish a solid following in podcast hosting in recent years.

As an actress, she became well-known after making guest appearances on several notable television programs, including “The Book Group,” “Another Period,” “Mr. Show With Bob and David,” and “Wings.” Stay Sexy and Don’t Get Murdered is the book title she and Georgia Hardstark, who also co-hosts her podcast, wrote and published together in 2019.

Meanwhile, Karen’s stand-up comedy routines were making their way into more and more American homes through television series such as ‘Premium Blend’ and ‘Make Me Laugh.’Her well-known stand-up routines were primarily responsible for her landing a significant part in the sketch comedy series ‘Mr. Show with Bob and David’ in the year 1997.

Both “Heroes of Comedy: Women on Top” and “The Martin Short Show” included her as a guest star in which she portrayed her real-life self.

Because of the lack of progress in her acting career, she began to depend more and more on her writing talents to further her professional career. Karen was given writing credit for three episodes of the television show ‘Hype’ in the year 2001. Following that, she penned the screenplay for a short film titled “The Girls Guitar Club,” in which she also starred. At this time, she made the acquaintance of the well-known comedian Ellen Degeneres, and her life was forever altered as a result.
