New York Giants Biography and Career:
The New York Giants are a professional gridiron football team based in East Rutherford, New Jersey, that competes in the National Football League. They are owned by the New York Giants Foundation. It has taken the Giants four National Football League (NFL) titles (1927-1934), three Super Bowl championships (1938-1956), and four NFL championship games (Super Bowls) to reach this point (1987, 1991, 2008, and 2012). The Giants were known for their early triumphs as well as their dominating performance in the 1980s and 1990s under head coach Bill Parcells, who led the team to two Super Bowl victories.

The Giants won their fourth (and last) NFL title in 1956 after relocating from the Polo Grounds to Yankee Stadium and relying on the legs of renowned running back Frank Gifford and the tenacity of linebacker Sam Huff to accomplish their goal. During this time period, the club included defensive back Emlen Tunnell, who played 11 seasons (1948–58) and was the first African-American player to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame after becoming the first African-American to do so.
Vince Lombardi served as offensive coordinator and Tom Landry served as defensive coordinator for the team in the 1950s. Both coaches went on to become legendary coaches for their respective teams, the Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys. The Colts defeated the Giants 23–17 in overtime in front of a national television audience in a spectacular game that concluded in sudden death.
